Investing in our community and its people

Ocean Bank is vested in the future of our children. In association with Miami Dade College and American Bankers Association (ABA), Ocean Bank sponsors an educational training followed by an internship program for a group of local high-school students to become certified tellers.

Investing in our community’s next generation

In response to the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Andrew in 1992, which made it difficult for so many Miami-Dade public schools to provide their students with essential tools and materials, the Ocean Bank Center for Educational Materials was created to organize and distribute donated school supplies to educators free of charge and support their efforts to engage and inspire excellence.

 

Since then, we’ve helped distribute more than $18 million in supplies to over 32,000 teachers, reaching more than 2.5 million students.

Florida International University

Ocean Bank Convocation Center

In 2018, the 5,000-seat center was renamed the Ocean Bank Convocation Center to commemorate Ocean’s commitment to supporting higher education and the communities we serve.

 

Since then, the Center has welcomed thousands of students, their families and friends to enjoy sports events, as well as banquets, conventions, concerts and to celebrate FIU’s annual graduation ceremony.

 

 

United Way

United Way Employee Campaign

Since 1995, we have partnered with United Way to help our community and make a difference in the lives of many people who are in need. Our employees pledge, contribute and volunteer time and money to help our neighborhoods.

March of Dimes Walks

Over the last 20 years, Ocean Bank has participated and sponsored March Of Dimes Walks, bringing employees together to fight for the health of every family.

Florida Memorial University

The Ocean Bank Scholarship, has provided 46 FMU students with academic scholarships totaling more than $100,000.

Liga Contra El Cancer

Employees and the bank volunteer and donate towards the efforts of La Liga Contra El Cancer. Every year we participate in the telethon to help collect funds for the cause.
